The DILG-ARMM had conducted its first Management Committee (ManCom) Meeting for the year 2017 on January 9, 2017 at the DILG-ARMM Office Conference Room.

The meeting was attended by the DILG-ARMM Regional Secretary, Atty. Noor Hafizullah “Kirby” M. Abdullah, Assistant Regional Secretary, Dr. Sharifa Pearlsia A. Dans, CESE/CEO VI, Director III, Engr. Khalid S. Dumagay, CESE, Director II/Technical Services, Lininding M. Lao, CSEE, Provincial Directors of the ARMM provinces, division heads of the technical services and its personnel, and the Admin/Finance division of the department.

The activity was intended to frame the 2017 plans and targets of the office, review the accomplishment report, coordination, monitoring and implementation of the programs, projects, and activities (PPAs) focusing on the major PPAs on Peace and Security, Anti-Drug Campaign and Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).

It was presented that six (6) LGUs from ARMM awarded as SGLG passers. This changed the negative perception of public against ARMM.

For this year and the years to come, more targeted number of LGUs was intended by the department. Closer in achieving the goal, it was raised to make LCEs to have thorough knowledge and commitment in achieving the plan.

It was shared that the Secretary of Interior and Local Government (SILG) recommended for the coming SGLG that firecracker zone area and/or firecracker ban would be made to be part of the program’s criteria.

Regional Secretary, Atty. Noor Hafizullah “Kirby” M. Abdullah, last instruction before adjournment of the meeting was to strengthen the supervisory power of the department to make the LGUs functional as answer to the priority thrust of the ARMM Regional Governor, Mujiv S. Hataman, on the functionality of barangay local government units, including municipalities.
