Regional Consultation for the Formulation of a National Crime Prevention Program

The DILG-ARMM, thru Hja Helen P. Ahmad and Leilali A. Limba, both LGOO V, attended the Regional Consultation/Dialogue conducted by the NAPOLCOM-ARMM on June 28, 2016 at 8:00 AM at Sardonyx Plaza, Gov. Gutierrez Ave., Cotabato City.

The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) is mandated under Section 14 of Republic Act No. 6975, as amended by Republic Act No. 8551, to recommend to the President, a... national crime prevention program. To ensure the development of an effective and relevant crime prevention program, the Commission is embarking on multi-level consultations with stakeholders to identify and address local issues and concerns on criminality and determine appropriate approaches.

The local consultation in ARMM Region was participated in by representatives coming from the five (5) pillars of the criminal justice system, local executives, non-government organizations and sectoral groups,. It was envisioned that through this activity, citizen’s support and participation on crime prevention and criminal justice administration will be further strengthened. The output of the regional consultations shall be submitted and presented to the National Consultation and Strategic Planning Workshop that will formulate the National Crime prevention Program.
