The Bureau of Local Government Supervision (BLGS), DILG Central Office, conducted the Peace and Order and Public Safety (POPS) Plan Consolidation and Analysis on February 27, 2017 to March 2, 2017, held at Venus Parkview Hotel, Baguio City.
The DILG-ARMM, represented by Ms. Leilali A. Limba, LGOO V/FP, POPSP, and Mr. Majaramir Y. Sumail, RIO, attended the activity.
The activity aimed to provide a venue to: (1) present the peace and order situation of every region; (2) present updates/latest issuances for BPOCS/BPOC; (3) study the common issues from all consolidated POPS Plan for 2017-2019; (4) identify programs to address criminality and extremism; and, (5) gather concepts, strategies, programs and best practices that may be replicated to POCs nationwide.
DILG Focal Persons from different regions nationwide presented their POPS Plan output concerning their top three (3) POPS issues in their regions and top five (5) Programs, Plans and Activities to address the situations.
Accordingly, pursuant to DDB Board Regulation No. 25, series of 2016, it was said that drug affected barangay meant has reported presence of user, pusher, manufacturer, marijuana cultivator or other drug personality, drug den, marijuana plantation, clandestine drug laboratory, and facilities related to production of illegal drugs.
The BLGS reported that the National Capital Region (NCR) marked as the highest percentage of drug affectation with 99.94%; while, the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao had the lowest percentage of drug affectation with only 7.28%.
